Didn't We Have a Lovely Day...

It was gorgeous day at The Alex on Saturday. And everyone was upbeat and happy and radiant...none more so than our lovely Mother's Day competition winner...

Akayrii

After dropping into Bluebird, Akayrii was able to drift around all the stalls and make her selections...there were way too many lovely things to pick from but here is the final list:

A darling little flower necklace from Crafty Cruella
A gorgeous bundle of handmade soaps from alchimista
and
A divine knitted necklace from Snow Angels Designs.

Now...we need to recognise another special entry to our comp...

Akayrii is a 10 year old and we absolutely loved the you described how wonderful your mum was! Mums all around the world hold their children close to their hearts but is very special to hear that children feel the same.

From little things big things grow...

Well it certainly has been a long time since the last post, hasn't it?

The Bluebird Market is continuing to flourish and grow and blossom into the market that Maria always dreamed of. In fact we owe much to one woman who was willing to take a little bit of risk to start something.

We are steaming towards our Mother's Day market which, as usual, is in the grounds of The Alex hotel on the first Saturday of the month...5th May.

Mark it out as this month will see some new stallholders, old favs and a selection of produce. So drum roll please as we do a mini roll call...in no particular order!

Heidi and Goat. The mountain dwellers who love to read and sew! They hand make a range of cute and colorful fabric stationery accessories.

Poppy and Belle, upcycled and Vintage style jewellery, handmade fabric flower accessories, vintage, rockabilly inspired bags.

Not Without Spice. Handmade Spice and Herb Blends, Salt Rubs, Teas, Sugars, Cookie - Cup cake Mixes, recipe, food with spice IT DOESN'T HAVE TO BE HOT JUST SPICED.

The ever talented Needle vs Thread.

Pick up some fresh produce from Veggie Dad...

Have a coffee with the boys from True To The Bean...and grab some Cassiopeia beans for home.

A new market is born!

After spending over a year travelling around to other people's fabulous handmade markets as a stall holder, I decided to start my own!  We've secured the grounds of the historic Alexandra Hotel as our base which is very exciting as it's a beautiful old Edwardian pub with a lovely outlook over Leura and the mountains.






I've had a huge amount of interest from some very talented people so the launch market will be an exciting one. I'll showcase a few of the artisans in the coming days :)
